When I started this blog, I thought I was safe going with a budget hosting account that was limited to 300MB/month. So far this month I’ve served up 217MB. Time for an upgrade, I guess….

Has anyone tried this yet? The upgrade package includes scripts to assist in migrating from 2.6.4, which is where I am, but I’m nervous about breaking everything. Maybe over the weekend….

The Books page on this site has been a TBD since I set it up. Maybe I just prefer reading books to writing about them. Anyway, I’ve made a first stab at it. Just the facts, ma’am – no explanations as yet.

OK, I’ve been blogspammed. I’ve now had three comments added to my blog which advertised spectacular medical opportunities. I know the IP address of each (e.g. 62.99.209.54), but I haven’t yet done the spelunking required to find out if its coming from a business or (more likely) from a compromised PC somewhere.
The obvious fix would be to fix the “add comment” module of MT to require interactive validation to enter a comment. (E.g. type back a code displayed as a JPEG.) I’m going to investigate what’s online at Blogspam and I’ll report back.

A friend on the ASML asked me about how to get into blogging. The obvious place for this information is in my blog, of course….. [Revised]
