My Congressional rep, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D), attended today’s Inauguration and posted happy selfies on her FB page. I would have understood if she had turned up wearing dark colored clothing, with a black arm band to mark the mourning for President Carter, and spoken of our debt to Martin Luther King for whom today is a national holiday. If she had approached it as a civic duty on behalf of her constituents, but one undertaken with regret.
But she didn’t.

The way to behave is to abandon the Democrats. Not saying to become a Trumper or Republican, but the Dems have abandoned us. Seriously, Hillary over Bernie? Joe Biden over Tulsi? Kamala over RFK? The US is an empire in decline, all the oligarchs have left is parasitism.
Abandon Democrats and do what? Like it or not, political power in a nation of 300M people requires some kind of organization. Propose the creation of a new political party if you want, but walking away from the problem with no idea of an alternative is simply crazy.
