There are a couple of assumptions which theists – and indeed, some atheists – make, which irk me a little.
Primarily, the question which is implicitly asked, is “do you believe in a god?’.
It would be much more interesting, in my opinion, if the following questions were asked:
“What constitutes a god?”
“… and how many of them, are there?”
